What it is
Green stone embodied maize, water and breath. Olmec spoon and axe-god pendants, Maya jade heads and plaques, Mezcala figures and Mixtec gold were worn by rulers and laid in tombs.

3–15 cm jadeite, serpentine or greenstone, string-sawn and drilled with tubular drills.
