What it is

Stylised fish-hook (hei-matau) for safe travel over water and abundance, the twist (pikorua) for friendship, and koru spirals. Also includes the kuru ear pendants and the pekapeka bat pendant.

Making yours

4–10 cm pounamu, bone or whale ivory, carved with a hand drill and abrasives.
